One Dead, One Injured in Richardson Highway Rollover

By Ken Ringstad on August 12th, 2015 in Alaska, Car Accident, Local Accident Report

On August 12, Alaska State Troopers responded to a rollover accident on the Richardson Highway near the Badger Road exit. One man died and a woman was medically evacuated. Three juvenile passengers were transported to Fairbanks Memorial for evaluation. Troopers believe the driver lost control of the vehicle after falling asleep; an investigation is continuing.

Report taken from Fairbanks Daily Newsminer on August 12.

Vehicle Rollover Safety Tips:

Avoid driving when you’re tired. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drowsy driving causes more than 83,000 motor vehicle crashes and over 1,000 fatalities a year. Be aware that some medication may cause drowsiness and can make operating a vehicle dangerous.

Sometimes all it takes is that one moment when you take your eyes off the road to look at your phone, the radio, your kids in the back seat, or commotion on the side of the road. There are many causes of car accidents, like distractions or sleep –deprivation.  If you have been involved in a car accident at the fault of someone else, you may be entitled to compensation.  Call the personal injury attorneys at Ringstad Law Office, P.C. to see how we can help you.
