Injuries in Richardson Highway Rear End Collision

By Hannah Raymond on July 12th, 2016 in Alaska, Car Accident, Local Accident Report

On July 1, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a motor vehicle collision on the Richardson Highway at the Tanana Loop intersection in Delta Junction.  Investigation revealed the driver of a southbound GMC Sierra rear ended the back of a Toyota Sequoia that was waiting to turn left onto Tanana Loop.  The Toyota subsequently rolled into the ditch several times before coming to rest on its side.  Juvenile occupants of the Toyota were transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.   Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.  The driver of the GMC Sierra received a citation for negligent driving.

Report taken from Alaska State Troopers Dispatch.

Driving Safety Tips

Don’t follow too closely behind the vehicle in front of you.  Remember the 4 sec rule and watch for shrinking distance between you and the car ahead of you.  It is important to increase your following distance at higher speeds, at night, and in hazardous conditions like rain or snow.

Motorist are expected to use a reasonable amount of care on the road.  If you or someone you love has been injured in a car accident due to someone else’s lack of care-or negligence- you may be entitled to financial compensation for your injuries or other damages.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to the personal injury attorney’s at Ringstad Law Office, P.C.
