On May 29, Alaska State Troopers responded to a head-on motor vehicle collision involving a commercial vehicle on the Glenn Highway near Milepost 33. Investigation revealed that the driver operating a tractor-trailer combo drifted across both southbound lanes of travel, careened through the median, and continued across the northbound lanes. Multiple vehicles took evasive action to avoid the tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer struck a pickup truck behind the driver’s door shearing the rear end of the truck and sending the truck rolling multiple times where it came to rest on its roof in a swamp. The driver of the truck and the driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were all transported to the hospital with injuries.
