On July 22, a 19-year-old driver flipped and rolled her SUV nearly 5 times and took out a fire hydrant. The vehicle landed on its roof. Both the driver and the passenger were able to crawl to safety from the overturned vehicle and were transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The driver’s breath alcohol content was measured at 0.159. The driver was charged with DUI, minor consuming, and a felony assault.

Report taken from Webcenter11 on July 22.

Safety Tips on Avoiding Car Accidents

Report drunk or unsafe drivers immediately. Law enforcement in the state of Alaska takes this very seriously. Call 911 if you feel someone should not be behind the wheel. Even if you are unsure, it is better to be safe than sorry. You could prevent a serious accident from happening down the road.

Alcohol, drugs, and driving do not mix. If you have been involved in a car accident in which the other driver was under the influence, you may have a personal injury claim. Call a personal injury attorney right away to fight for the compensation you deserve.
