Driver Flees Scene of Accident on Glenn Highway

By Hannah Raymond on July 25th, 2016 in Alaska, Car Accident, Personal Injury

On July 16, Alaska State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash near Milepost 186 on the Glenn Highway.  Investigation revealed the driver of a pickup crossed the center line into eastbound traffic.  The driver of an eastbound motorhome took evasive action and the truck swiped the side of the motorhome on the passenger side before colliding head-on into a Chevy SUV.  The driver of the truck fled the scene but was later located at a nearby residence.   The driver of the truck was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, no vehicle liability insurance and driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked.  No serious injuries were reported.

Report taken from Alaska State Troopers Dispatch.

Driving Safety Tips

Report drunk or unsafe driver’s immediately.  Law enforcement in the State of Alaska takes this very seriously.  Call 911 if you feel someone should not be behind the wheel (But not while you are driving. ) Even if you are unsure, it is better to be safe than sorry.  You could prevent a serious accident from happening down the road.

Accidents caused by drunk driver or those who are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs can be devastating.  Sadly, accidents such as this one happen more often than they should.  If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident where alcohol or drugs were a factor, contact the personal injury attorneys at Ringstad Law Office, P.C. to help you get the compensation you deserve
