Driving Safety Tips
When you approach a corner, slow down with plenty of time to spare before you arrive. Drive around it gently and carefully at a constant speed. Not only will this prevent you from crossing into the other lane or unsettling your car, but it’ll give you more time to react if you come across an obstacle, such as an oncoming vehicle.
When the roadway is icy accelerate and decelerate slowly.
Drive slowly.
The normal dry pavement following distance of three to four seconds should be increased to eight to ten seconds.
Know your brakes.
Don’t power up hills.
Don’t stop going up a hill.
Stay home.
Pay attention if someone does skid or slip on the snow, they could start moving toward you from a direction you’re not expecting. It pays to be aware of what’s going on not just in front of you, but to each side and behind you too.
