Fatality and Injuries in Single Vehicle Rollover

|

On November 2, Alaska State Troopers responded to Milepost 1 of Kalifornski Beach Road to investigate a reported single vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed the driver of a southbound Ford pickup lost control of the vehicle, drove off the road and crashed into a ditch.  The driver and one passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries.  Another passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Report taken from Alaska State Troopers Dispatch.

Driving Safety Tips

Wear your seat belt properly.  Seat belts keep the vehicle’s occupants inside the car during a collision, restrain the strongest parts of the body, spread out the force from the collision, protect the brain and spinal cord and help the body slow down after impact, reducing injuries.  In order for a seat belt to be effective, it must be worn properly.  Ensure the shoulder belt rests across your chest and shoulders – never across your neck.  Don’t place the seat belt behind your back.  The lap belt should fit snugly over you’re hips.  Seat belt extenders can be purchased for larger-sized drivers or passengers that maintain safety while increasing comfort.

Motorists are expected to use a reasonable amount of care on the road.  If you or a loved one has been injured or killed in a car accident due to someone else lack of care – or negligence-you may be entitled to financial compensation for your injuries or other damages.  Personal injury attorneys at Ringstad Law Office, P.C. are available to answer your questions.
