Two Injured & Two Killed in Early Morning Crash in Petersburg

On July 5, Petersburg Police Department requested Alaska State Troopers take over investigation of a double fatality motor vehicle collision which occurred on July 4.  Petersburg Police Department received notice of a car over a guardrail and into a ditch near the South Harbor parking lot. Two passengers in the vehicle were declared deceased. A third passenger and the driver of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment.   The driver sustained serious injuries and the passenger was treated and released.  Investigation into the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
