On August 7, Alaska State Troopers responded to Milepost 101 on the Richardson Highway to reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorhome and a tour bus. Investigation revealed the driver of a northbound motorhome rear-ended a tour bus that had slowed to negotiate a left hand turn into the Cooper River Wilderness Lodge. The motorhome had three passengers and the tour bus had 32 persons onboard. Thirteen people were transported by air and ground ambulance to medical facilities in Glennallen, Wasilla and Anchorage.
