Passenger injured, Driver Killed in Kenai Rollover

|

On August 10, Kenai Police responded to a single vehicle rollover at Mile 5 of the Kenai Spur Highway.  Kenai Police said a westbound Jeep left the roadway and went into a ditch.  When the vehicle hit the ditch it went airborne, struck a power pole and rolled multiple times.  The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.   A seat-belted passenger was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Preliminary indications say drugs, alcohol or speed are not factors in the crash.   The investigation is continuing.

Report taken from Alaska Dispatch News.
