Four Vehicle Accident on Seward Highway

|

On August 20, Alaska State Troopers traveled to mile 78.5 of the Seward Highway responding to a report of a four-vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed a southbound GMC pickup stopped suddenly for a vehicle turning left into a driveway.  A Mustang following the pickup stopped short of hitting the truck but the driver of a Tahoe following the Mustang hit the Mustang pushing it into the GMC pickup.  A fourth vehicle struck the Tahoe in the rear. All occupants reported wearing seatbelts and only minor injuries were reported.

Report taken from Alaska State Troopers Dispatch.

Driving Safety Tips

By maintaining a safe following distance at all times, drivers can prevent front-end collisions in spite of abrupt or unexpected stops of the vehicle ahead.  Observe the “four second rule” by following the vehicle ahead of you at a distance that spans at least four seconds.  The following distance should be increased when driving in adverse conditions.

Motorists are expected to use a reasonable amount of care on the road.  If you or someone you love has been injured in a car accident due to someone else’s lack of care- or negligence- you may be entitled to financial compensation for your injuries or other damages.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to the personal injury attorneys at Ringstad Law Office, P.C. as soon as possible
