Minivan Hits Parole Car in Glennallen, Alaska

|

On July 10, an Alaska State Trooper was on his way to conduct a traffic stop on the Glenn Highway when his vehicle was hit from the rear by a minivan. Both cars were totaled due to the collision. The only reported injury was by the trooper. Seat belts were worn by all passengers in the collision.

Report taken from the Alaska State Trooper dispatch on July 14.

Safety Tips for Avoiding a Vehicle Collision

Don’t follow too closely behind the vehicle in front of you. Leave at least one car length for each 10 mph you are traveling between you and the car in front of you. This gives you as a driver more reaction time and helps prevent collisions. It is important to increase your following distance at higher speeds, at night, and in hazardous conditions, like rain and snow.

Accidents happen so fast, it can be difficult to know what really happened and who was really at fault. It is crucial that you contact a car accident attorney immediately so that the proper steps can be taken to ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve for your damages. The accident scene will first need to be investigated, so time is of the essence.
